Journey to Planetary Health: Borneo Island, Indonesia

Thursday, August 8, 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room

Step into the rainforests of Borneo Island in Indonesia and learn how a once-depleted rainforest site became a thriving ecosystem. Ride in a motorized small boat and weave through islands where orangutans, the rainforest's original foresters, are learning how to live in the wild again. Learn about the role climate change plays in every facet of life and how we can become planetary health guardians. Fredricksen Library's Susan Kiskis will share her experiences living, working, and volunteering last summer in Indonesia. The interactive nature of the session encourages participation and discussion, providing participants with a memorable and educational experience.
